The oldest publication of the Royal Kingdom of Bautizar, the Royal Herald serves as the unofficial mouthpiece of the Imperial court. Owned and operated by the powerful Redding family, who can lay claim to the heritage of six of the last nine monarchs, the paper tends to closely follow the official government line on political stories, while also reporting on other domestic affairs that fall outside this scope.

... From the News Ticker ...

... Military sources tonight report that the RBAF is conducting high-altitude reconnaissance overflights of Plots 7 and 8, by direction of unnamed 'senior-level government officials.' The flights, according to one source who requested anonymity as they were not cleared to be speaking on this topic, are believed to be gathering information on local tribes and settlements within the regions. Analysts and retired military officers say control of these areas figure prominently in wartime military planning, as it would permit what one source called a "vigorous and unrestrained freedom of maneuverability in a critical military zone." There was no response by military officials as of press time today ...

... A spokesman for the Royal Bautizan Army XII Corps, headquartered at Fort Chatwick near the city of New Strathill, told reporters earlier today that all personnel are being recalled from holiday leave. While refusing to comment on reports of a classified high-level meeting that took place several days ago, the spokesman did confirm that the Corps is being mobilized for participation in "ongoing military operations." Historically, the XII Corps has been involved in defending areas around New Strathill against well-armed marauders and bandits that launch raids through mountain passes following the thawing of the passes in late May ...

... From the News Ticker ...

... A coalition of nuclear-disarmament groups held peaceful rallies in the capital city of the Royal Kingdom of Bautizar today. Demonstrators unfurled banners from several office buildings and distributed leaflets calling for the dismantlement of the nation's alleged atomic weapons stockpile. Police officials from the National Constabulary Authority report that 15 persons were arrested for the "unlicensed distribution of inflammatory material," a charge often leveled against nuclear-related demonstrations. Although the Kingdom has never officially confirmed its possession of nuclear weapons, analysts believe it likely has several thousand weapons in its arsenal. Military officials refused comment on the demonstrations ...

... From the News Ticker ...

... Snowfall continues across much of Bautizar today, following the arrival of strong winter storm from Plot 12. Local officials in Yorkvasser report that some parts of the city have received as much as five feet of snow, prompting a suspension of all rail service on the Yorkvasser-Port Allansberry rail line and causing mass-cancellation of all flights at King Rodrick International Airport. Meteorologists predict the storm to continue its southeast track, delivering 4-6 feet in mountain areas and 1-3 feet in coastal regions. Municipal officials in the Kingdom have urged citizens to avoid panic-buying of supplies, and have placed disaster-relief services on maximum readiness. "It's nothing new: we've gone through this before," one official in New Strathill was quoted as saying. In other related news, officials in Port Allansberry continue to dismiss reports of a 'fat man in a red suit,' who was sighted flying over the city by several people at an outdoor ice-skating rink. ...
