PostSubject: About Corporate Army   Sun Dec 19, 2010 1:24 pm

Oscalantine’s Infamous Corporate Army is army members without any equal. They are entities whose purpose is to protect the interest of the member companies in Oscalantine. They usually go through intense training and are unusually fearless in any situations. They are armed with latest weapons and armaments that make National Army’s equipments look outdated. The funding for Corporate Army comes directly from Oscalantine’s member companies, who pay portion of their overall profit to Oscalantine to keep these individuals well maintained. It is estimated that over billions of Nexus Credit is spent on maintaining and training Corporate Army every year. And for this reason, Corporate Army is always updated with the latest prototype of weapons. Of course, these weapons are provided cheaply to begin with, since large arms manufactures such as Lindback Corporation and Nexus Incorporated is part of the Oscalantine who pays to maintain the Corporate Army.

The role of the Corporate Army varies from time to time. Their job usually ranges in being a bodyguard, infiltrator, and mercenary for the member companies. While most of the times the Corporate Army is sent along with many high-ranked business officials as a personal bodyguard, during wartime they are sent to complete missions that seems impossible to others. Their specialty is to disable the enemy installations that will take thousands of casualties to break down with frontal assault. They also work ahead of the front lines, destroying vital facilities that could aid the enemy in the near future. Often times with a powerful enemy, the Corporate Army also works alongside the National Army, leading them in field of battle. The Corporate Army also takes the role of mercenaries and hired hands. They act anywhere that is needed by the companies that hired them and work to complete their mission. Of course, the said company has to have a good relations with Oscalantine and its member companies before being able to hire the Corporate Army. Many of the higher-ranked Corporate Army members serves as a high-ranking military officials, often times taking over key locations and key military vessels.

The rank of the Corporate Army is probably not what one might expect. The Corporate Army members only need to listen and report back to the Executor, and they only really need to listen to the Executor’s words. Everything else is optional. In that sense, the Corporate Army, as long as they are not instructed otherwise by the Executor, is capable of doing anything and everything that they want. They usually prefer to not abuse this authority, and many consider themselves below the rank of an admiral or general. However, if need rises, they do not hesitate to disobey the orders from these military heads to fulfill their missions. Many Corporate Army members… especially high-ranked ones… seem to be attached to certain leaders. They prefer to only work for certain leaders or groups. While Executors can reinstate them, most of the cases even the Executors allows free reign on the Corporate Army, as they really do know what they are doing.

The Corporate Army is commonly known as “Black Figurines” due to their black suits. They have a strict code of honor to remove their individuality when they have their helmets on, and they do so. The suits erase its wearer’s heat signature and are woven from intricate fibers to provide a bullet-proof armor casing. The suit prevents almost any knife wounds and provides some protection against bullets. The suit is very flexible and allows fluid movement of the user while it is worn, and it can allow Corporate Army to operate under extreme conditions free from environmental factors. What are truly amazing about these suits are the helmets. The helmet, dubbed “Black Mask” by those who know the Corporate Army, is the pinnacle of HUD systems, where Corporate Army can see the battlefield at its best angle. The Black Mask is probably the reason why the Corporate Army has obtained its infamy, as the HUD systems allows the Corporate Army to quickly access and activate various triggers without much effort.

The weapons that the Corporate Army utilizes are small and compact, and they are usually not all that heavy in terms of firepower. Small arms such as handguns and knives are more preferred in the quick-mission settings than utilizing heavy guns. Almost all of their guns have silencer attachments. Because the Corporate Army members do not have restriction on what weapons one must use, they usually go with their preference, and they are masters of their favorite weapons. Therefore, Oscalantine chooses exactly what kind of Corporate Army soldiers are necessary for the mission before sending them out, making the odds of the mission turning out successful just that much higher.

In order to compensate for lack of firepower, few of the Corporate Army is experts at handling automated turrets. These compact machineries are usually carried in cases of one or two at a time, and they can unfold to cause some serious damage. They range in all sorts of different weapons, from heavy machineguns to small tactical nuke. These weapons give the Corporate Army the precious firepower that they need in the tight situations.

The ranking system of the Corporate Army is assigned by how much “points” that they earn in every mission. Each mission has varying points, and given that they meet the requirements, they participate to earn that point as long as the mission is successful. These points are added to their ranking, which changes frequently. The ranking is usually done in numbers top down, and only at the top thirty members that it really starts to show difference. However, due to those member just hoarding points, their status hardly changes frequently.

Most of the Corporate Army is called out by their code number. The code number is assigned to them and they are common identifier to who the person is under the mask. They usually serve as a name for individuals in the Corporate Army even if they have their own names. These range from A to Z and three digit numbers, like A-111.

In Corporate Army there are also bit of difference. There is a faction between “young bloods” and “old bloods,” as dubbed by themselves. The “old bloods” are simply the original member of the Corporate Army. They have been recruited at first as mercenaries and have signed a contract to forever be part of Oscalantine. They have been crucial during the revolution against USI and they have since been serving as elite members of Oscalantine. The “young bloods” are the new “kids,” who have been practically born or taken into service since they are very young. They have spent their entire live in training, and by the age as young as 12, they are allowed to serve as part of Corporate Army, although that is very rare and only with supervision. The older generation of the “young bloods,” usually in their early to late twenties, is prominent leaders of Corporate army. Many of the elite 30 range at around 20 to 30 years of age save a few exceptions, and many of the Corporate Army is at this age, as the early days of “Corporate Army” has caused many “old bloods” to die, and many more have retired since.

The 30 top pointers in the Corporate Army are collectively known as Melcobian Guards. There is a running joke amongst them to change their name to “Royal Douchebags,” although they have never got around to it quite yet. They range in Greek alphabets, and they are ridiculously cunning individuals. They usually spend their time attached to one leader of Oscalantine, doing whatever they want to pass time. They are rather dangerous individuals, as many of them sees life in Corporate Army as nothing short of a game. While the lower 24 is serving in the front lines, the top 6 are in charge of guarding the Melcoba Family from harm. These 30 are never put on sale in terms of mercenary, and they freely spend their points on “favors,” which is basically a reward system created by Oscalantine to allow anything in exchange for “points” that they have earned during a successful mission.
